13 Patios

Short stories about connection. They're simple, written from the heart and full of real life stuff. I’m Annie. My best friend is Pip, a blind Pit Bull and the happiest dog I’ve ever met. We're grabbing drinks on 13 different patios with 13 different people and we're sharing our stories.

Moved

Last fall I moved to Chicago for my dream job. The first three months were nothing like I hoped. I missed my friends terribly. I was overwhelmed by city life. Then came a skin cancer diagnosis and a breakup. Even for an optimistic ENFP, it was a lot.

Shaken

As much as I hate to admit it, I felt sorry for myself, but in true Annie fashion, I made a list of what brings me joy. Pip. Friendship. Patios. Sunshine. Craft cocktails. Years ago I had the idea to visit 13 patios with friends, but never got around to it. This time, it's way more meaningful.

Stirred

We all come to a point where we wonder "what the f&cK just happened", often times it's after a break up.  When I was going through it I read a lot and was able to find comfort knowing I wasn't alone. That's really what matters. I hope you get a laugh, know you're not alone and maybe even feel inspired to go out and make the most of your new beginning.

People

Not all of my patio meetups are dates. I'm looking for friendship but if the right person were to come along, I would be open to dating. We'll see what happens. One of the best part of life is that in just a moment life can change for the better. One moment, one person, everything can change.
